For all things boating, the harbour is THE place to be! A plethora of boats head out to sea each day (weather and tide permitting) between May and September giving you a fascinating perspective of Newquay and its surrounds. Witness towering cliffs, golden sands, tranquil inlets and secret coves on a memorable day or half-day boat trip. You'll even have a chance to catch a mackerel or two for your tea while you're there! For the adrenalin seekers among you, there are also speedboat trips available. So if you fancy zipping across Newquay Bay at speeds of up to 40 knots this is the one for you! Remember to hold onto your hat!
For something a little more sedate how about heading to Trenance Boating Lake? Situated within Trenance Park, a beautiful 26 acre recreational area with gardens, children's play area, crazy golf, not to mention Newquay Zoo and Waterworld, the boating lake enables families to hire pedaloes and rowing boats. Be your own Steven Redgrave!
The north Cornish coast also offers superb sailing opportunities. Newquay Sailing Club holds regular handicap racing in the bay, times varying according to tides. Dinghy-owners may bring their boats, become associate members, compete in the racing and use the Clubhouse. Details in the useful contacts below:
