The Newquay Ladies County Gig Championships sees women crews from all over Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly descend upon Newquay Harbour to battle it out for the honour of being crowned Ladies County Gig Champions.

Newquay Fish Festival
The event showcases one of Newquays hidden gems 'the harbour' and has proven an extremely popular event with both residents and visitors. The practical cookery demonstrations by local chefs are undoubtedly the highlight of the festival, with hotels and restaurants being able to promote local fresh fish and shellfish and locally available produce. Polo on the Beach
One of the most glamorous events in the Newquay events calendar - sunbleached surfers rubbing shoulders with the thoroughbred polo set in a late summer's evening of saltwater adrenaline. Over 20 polo ponies will be on the beach to play in an exhibition match, which is completely free for spectators.

Nemo Weekend
Can you find the real life ‘Nemo’ and his fishy friends? All the animated characters from the blockbuster movie were based on living creatures. Visit Blue Reef and follow the ‘Nemo’ trail to see which familiar faces you meet for real during your journey around the aquarium.

British National Surf Championships
Another BSA organised event in the exciting 2010 calendar for Fistral Beach. Around 150 of the best British surfers are expected to battle it out in the women's, men's and seniors' competitions.

Zapcat King of the Surf Grand Prix
Check out the only leg of the Zapcat circuit that takes place on a surfing beach and witness these super-powered, twin-hulled catamarans leap and twist out of the water. A great family spectacle!
