Know your flags
When on the beaches, make sure you listen to any instructions given by the lifeguards. It is also important to recognise and understand the 3 commonly seen flags on the UK’s beaches:

Bathing Flag – safe to swim between the two flags that look like this
Surfing Flag – an area has been marked by use for surfing craft. Avoid for your own safety
Danger Flag – Never enter the water when you see this flag
