Countryside
When people think about Newquay, they immediately think about the beaches – which yes they are beautiful but a 5 minute drive and you will be surrounded by endless miles of fields, countryside and woods!
If you wanted to stay in the countryside then they are many properties that offer accommodation depending on what you are after. You can stay on a working farm, so you can wake up and see the animals and see how a farm works or you can relax in a cosy countryside cottage surrounded by nothing but greenery.
Exploring the Countryside
Just outside of Newquay (3 miles away) you will find Colan Woods. A small wood which is great for exploring, dog walking or just going for a casual stroll, it is said the woods are haunted so make sure you keep an eye out….
Near to the woods you will find Porth Reservoir another nice area to explore which is full of different types of wildlife and many birds habitat there but please note that dogs are NOT allowed at Porth Reservoir.
Cubert Common is a patch of vast land between Cubert and Holywell Bay owned by the National Trust. They have put together a nice circular walk of the Commons which is one mile long or if you were looking for a bit longer of a walk they have done a circular wildlife walk to of Cubert Common across to Holywell Bay which is six miles long. However you do not have to do the circular walks you are more than welcome to go there and explore for yourselves.
