The Be Newquay Festival wants to make sure every adventure in Newquay is sustainable, responsible and enjoyable. Inspired by our Be Newquay Guide, the festival encourages visitors to embrace the things that come naturally to us – our passion for the outdoors, kindness, creativity, community and a desire to have a positive impact.
The Be Newquay Guide
The Be Newquay Guide is made up of five positive actions that you can take to help protect our wonderful town for the future. By enjoying the festival and its programme of events, you will naturally embrace the Be Newquay Guide’s five positive actions.
Even more so, if you travel by train. Arriving by train, will help you be a positive force and reduce your carbon footprint.
Whether you are coming from London, or more locally, Great Western Railway (GWR) operate train services right into the heart of Newquay.
Either high speed train services from London Paddington station including the Night Riviera Sleeper service as well as local services throughout Cornwall.
Trains run throughout the day from Par into the heart of Newquay so you can leave the car at home.

Here’s some top tips save on train travel
• Travel off-peak.
• If you live in Devon or Cornwall, you can purchase a Devon and Cornwall Railcard for £12. You could save a 1/3 on Standard Class Anytime or Off-Peak tickets for train travel within Devon and Cornwall for yourself and an accompanying adult. Also, up to 4 children can travel for a flat fare of £1 each.
• If you don’t live in Devon or Cornwall, or you plan to travel throughout Britain, you could still save a 1/3 with a railcard. For information on railcards visit GWR.com/railcard
• If you are travelling with children - Children aged five to fifteen inclusive get a 50% discount on most tickets. In addition, children under five can travel free with a fare paying customer.
• With Groupsave, if you are travelling in a group of between 3 and 9 adults, you can save a 1/3 on Standard Off-Peak tickets when travelling together on Great Western Railway services.

There are track upgrades linked to train service improvements affecting trains for Newquay from Mon 18 Nov – Sun 1 Dec. Replacement buses are planned between St Austell and Newquay. Find out more here.
