Theatres
Newquay’s Lane Theatre is a great live venue for popular plays, adaptions and brand new works performed by the Newquay Dramatic Society.
The venue frequently shows ‘one off’ music and comedy events from a wide range of musicians and entertainers. Each year the theatre normally has two plays running consecutively over the main season, sometimes they are original works or adaptations of well known or less familiar plays.
Newquay Amateur Dramatic Society was founded in May 1931 and they have been presenting plays continually since that date.
The theatre itself has a 138 seat auditorium with free parking and disabled access. In 1980 the Society acquired the Lane Village Hall and transformed a neglected building into the Lane Theatre we know today. It is situated about 2 miles from the town centre.
