Trerice Manor
Many are either owned or administered by the National Trust or English Heritage. The nearest to Newquay is Trerice Manor which has been owned by the National Trust since 1953. This Elizabethan Manor House has fine interiors and lavish gardens and is only about 4 miles (6km) away from Newquay.
Trenance Heritage Cottages
Heritage in Newquay is not only about the large, grand, properties. Recently the Trenance Heritage Cottages situated in Newquay’s Trenance gardens were restored and now contain a fascinating little museum and a traditional tea room – Cornish Cream Tea anyone? These late 1800’s workers terraced cottages give an insight to life over 100 years ago and in some cases were the homes of those who built the lake and gardens themselves.
