Watergate Bay is about 4 miles North of Newquay on the north coast of Cornwall with a sandy beach that stretches for nearly two miles. During the summer season the beach is patrolled by RNLI Lifeguards and it is dog friendly year round. There is ample parking and many different places to eat.
Known as the home of kitesurfing, the beach is perfect for water sports including surfing, kite surfing and stand up paddle surfing with a beach and watersports centre based there with teaching lessons and hiring equipment throughout the year.
They also host a calendar of events throughout the year including Boardmasters, English National Championships alongside other surfing, kitesurfing and stand up paddle surfing competitions.
