About
The Lighthouse Cinema brings the digital world of big screen entertainment to the heart of the town.
The cinema is situated off Crantock, King Street and Chapel Hill, and was previously the site for The Victoria Cinema, which was one of 3 cinemas in Newquay at one time. The New Lighthouse al the mod cons including four screens, two on the ground floor and two on the first floor which are accessible via stairs or the foyer lift.
The cinema features all digital NEC projection, and screens 1 and 4 feature MasterImage 3D systems. All screens are equipped with Digital sound systems and wall to wall screens for maximum picture size. Screen one features Dolby Surround 7.1 sound for selected films. Each screen has designated wheelchair spaces, infra-red hearing systems, audio description and subtitling facilities. Screen 1, the largest auditoria, has a raised stage area and facilities capable for live entertainment, conferencing and special presentations. On the ground floor the cinema has box office and concession areas, and a small licensed bar for patrons to enjoy a drink prior to their movie starting.
