About
2025: We are closed 1st January to 14th February to all but pre booked encounters and educational groups.
The Screech Owl Sanctuary was founded in 1990 and is situated in mid Cornwall on the edge of the Goss Moor Nature Reserve. Family-owned, the Sanctuary has a mission to demonstrate its passion for the natural environment and to encourage others to value the natural world we all share through its efforts in rehabilitation, conservation, and education.
The Sanctuary aims to educate, conserve, rehabilitate, participate in research, engage with the local community, and seek to minimise our impact on the environment. We offer visits to schools & other groups with the owls and can host school and other educational & group visits on site.
The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary has one of the largest collection of owls in the Southwest with over 70 owls ranging over 30 different species from all over the world. Included in your admission price, get up close and personal with our majestic birds of prey at the twice daily flying displays. At our regular educational talk and feed sessions come and learn about our owls and other animals. Our other residents include lemurs, raccoons, meerkats, alpacas, emus, wallabies, fox, ravens, and storks. Get an insight into our conservation work, enjoy a home-cooked meal from the tea room and let the children roam free in the outdoor playground.
