MUQY Street Art Adventures
MUQY, brought to you by Slapdash Studio, features renowned artists Kleiner Shames, Elle Koziupa, and 45 RPM, each bringing their distinct style to the town centre. Each artist is producing a large-scale mural, bringing Newquay’s unique heritage and identity to life. They will be painting throughout September and October, leading up to the Be Newquay Festival in November, where all three murals will be connected as part of a free Street Art walking trail.
MUQY is brought to you in collaboration with Love Newquay, who will be working with Slapdash Studios on exciting plans to develop it further in 2025. Watch this space.
Cream of Cornish
On the first weekend in November, experience Cornwall’s finest home-grown talent with captivating live performances as part of the Cream of Cornish weekend. On the second weekend in November, enjoy moonlit performances. Experience the magic of dance and theatre under the super full moon! ‘To the Moon and Back’ by Grit Productions combines dance, theatre, sound installation, and projection to create immersive experiences. Explore transformed spaces in the town centre, co-created with residents, that bring Newquay’s community stories to life.

Trenance Trees and Tales
On the third weekend in November, step into a world of wonder at Trenance Heritage Cottages and Garden Cafe, where the enchanting Lantern Parade will lead proceedings. This is the first time that Trenance has played host to the town’s popular lantern parade tradition in partnership with Blystra Arts.
The excitement doesn’t stop there. The evening will continue with the grand light switch on at 6.30pm which, alongside the Christmas tree, will light up the beautiful gardens including the foot bridge over the stream, and the façade of the heritage cottage itself. Plus local performers, Christmas carols and storytellers. Keeping eventgoers warm and merry, the Garden Cafe and Trenance Cottages will be serving up cosy drinks and comforting food throughout the evening.
